Quiet Reflections and Cherry Blossom Dreams

Dear Readers,

Today was a rather quiet day — my first day back at work. I spent most of it in meetings with my coworkers and supervisors, but if I’m honest, it wasn’t the best return. I received some feedback that left me feeling a bit low. I’ve always tried to give my all in everything I do, and sometimes it’s hard when that effort still doesn’t seem to be enough.

My boss made a comment that lingered with me: “Monique, I’m surprised to see this school’s NCPs so low. Aren’t you on deck all the time?” I explained that our team has been navigating management changes, pool closures, and maintenance issues — and that things are finally starting to steady with new, dedicated instructors. Still, it can feel like an uphill climb at times.

But amidst the weight of the day, there was also a quiet triumph. I officially submitted and paid for my university application — a step that brought both anxiety and relief all at once. My heart fluttered with nerves as I hit that final submit button, yet beneath it all was a deep sense of peace. This feels like the beginning of something new — a doorway to possibilities waiting just beyond the horizon.

Once the meetings were over, I took a deep breath, finished a bit of prep work, and decided that was enough for the day. I turned to one of my favorite forms of relaxation — Minecraft. I built a charming Cherry Blossom Fishing Dock and began working on a Japanese-inspired temple. There’s something so calming about watching virtual petals fall while shaping something beautiful from imagination.

Later, my little world brightened even more when my loved ones joined me online. Since I’ll be mentioning them often, I think it’s time for pen names: my boyfriend will be Bisa, and my girlfriends are Bitey and Woe. Yes — I’m in a poly relationship, and it’s been a journey full of communication, laughter, and love. We lift each other up, and that’s something truly special.

The three of us spent the evening playing games on an app called Plato. Bisa and Bitey are hilariously competitive — every time someone didn’t win, we had to play “just one more round.” Before we knew it, nearly two hours had passed in friendly chaos and laughter.

Afterward, I did a little light cleaning before returning to my current obsession: Game of Thrones. I’m still completely hooked, so please, no spoilers!

Sometimes quiet days don’t feel so quiet after all — they’re full of reflection, small comforts, and the gentle reminder that even after difficult moments, life still blooms in its own beautiful way.

With warmth,
Monique

Until next time, may your days be soft and your heart full. 🌸
